About Dr. Gordon

Rachael is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who brings over seven years of experience to Clear Minds Integrative Mental Health. Rachael received her master’s degree with a specialization in psychiatry and subspecialization in advanced forensics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to graduate school she studied psychology and criminology in addition to nursing at Oregon Health & Science University. 

 

Open minded and direct in her approach, Rachael believes in highly personalized treatment informed by the most current, evidence based research in neuropsychiatry as well as complementary/alternative treatments. She draws upon her training at the Veterans Health Administration (VA) Hospital serving veterans struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders and PTSD from military sexual trauma and combat-related trauma. Rachael has additional training in mindfulness based stress reduction, dialectical behavioral therapy and vinyasa yoga. She treats adults suffering from mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, OCD and thought disorders. 

 

Rachael also works at El Camino Hospital in consult-liaison psychiatry, a specialization which focuses on the diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders that are comorbid with (or originating from) medical conditions including psychiatric comorbidity in neurological, endocrinological, rheumatic and cardiovascular illness.

 

In her spare time, Rachael enjoys camping/backpacking with her dogs and studying viticulture.
